That statement is required because the claims on the label are support claims. The rule that separates a support claim from a disease claim is public, and it is the line every sentence on this website is written inside.

What Gelagen review lines are and are not
Two different things a reader could mistake for evidence.
The buyer lines quoted on this website record what individual buyers reported. They are not typical results and they predict nothing for anyone else.
No clinical trial of the finished Gelagen gummy has been published. Every study cited on this website is a study of a nutrient, not of this product, and no sentence here carries a finding from one to the other.
A printed panel settles what is in the jar. It does not settle what the jar does.
Who Gelagen is for, and the two interactions worth knowing
Who it is for, and the two conversations worth having.
For healthy adults aged 18 and over. Not for anyone under 18, and not for anyone who is pregnant or nursing.
Two specific interactions are named rather than hedged. The panel carries iodine, so anyone on thyroid medicine asks their prescriber first. And biotin interferes with some laboratory blood tests, so anyone taking it should say so before a blood draw. What is documented, and at what amount.

When a doctor should hear about Gelagen before you start
Gelagen is a dietary supplement. It is not a treatment for hair loss, a nail disorder, acne, eczema or any other skin condition, and it does not replace any medicine you already take.
- Hair loss that is sudden, patchy or heavy. Shedding in clumps, bald patches or a scalp that itches, scales or hurts can come from thyroid problems, alopecia areata and other conditions that need a diagnosis rather than a gummy (MedlinePlus: hair loss; NIAMS: alopecia areata).
- Nails that change colour, shape or thickness. Dark streaks, lifting, pitting or a thickened nail are reasons to see a clinician (MedlinePlus: nail diseases).
- A rash or skin change that will not settle. Persistent redness, scaling, sores or a changing mole belong with a doctor or dermatologist (MedlinePlus: skin conditions).
- A thyroid condition or thyroid medicine. Each two-gummy serving carries 42 mcg of iodine; people with autoimmune thyroid disease can react to intakes that are safe for others (NIH iodine fact sheet; MedlinePlus: thyroid diseases).
- A blood test on the calendar. The 5,000 mcg of biotin in a serving can push some lab results up or down, including thyroid tests and the troponin test used when a heart attack is suspected. Tell the doctor and the lab you take it (FDA).
- Pregnancy, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. The seller does not sell Gelagen for this. Its vitamin A is the preformed kind, 630 mcg a serving, which counts toward a daily upper limit (NIH vitamin A fact sheet).
- Prescription medicine or another supplement. Take the Supplement Facts panel to a pharmacist, especially if another product already supplies biotin, vitamin A or iodine (NCCIH on using supplements wisely).
Hair, skin or nail changes that are new, patchy or getting worse are a medical question first: see your doctor or a dermatologist before any supplement, and mention the biotin before a blood test. If something feels wrong after you start, stop and call your doctor; problems with a supplement can also be reported to the FDA (how to report a problem).
Who writes this Gelagen page?
